Ronald R. Bowman (Ron) was born and raised in Northeast Indiana, Auburn. After serving in the US Army, Ron graduated from Purdue University with a degree in engineering. His career started in a large coal fired power plant in central Illinois, East of St. Louis, MO.

During the 23 years, he worked in various capacities, with the last 6 years as Assistant Plant Manager. Many facets of work included: General Plant maintenance and operation, scheduling of extended maintenance outages, personnel matters, coordinating the work environment of 270 union employees, and generally improving plant performance. In 1990, he chose to leave industry to farm his 1200 acre Illinois farm.

Commodities were: corn, soybeans, wheat, and cattle. Ron learned the virtues and dismay of self-employment while farming. In 1996, Ron and his wife sold their farm and moved to Buena Vista, Colorado. Since then, Ron has invested in several farms in Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska.

Currently, his farms in the San Luis Valley of Colorado, produce potatoes, barley, alfalfa, wheat, and hay. Ron understands that Jerry and his wife Lynne have the desire to assist others who are less fortunate to enjoy the out of doors.
